Su Butcher
Su Butcher trained in Architecture at the University of Liverpool and is an authority on the use of the micro-blogging service Twitter in the construction industry. As practice manager of Barefoot & Gilles, Su uses social tools to find new clients and collaborators. She has been networking online for five years.
In 2008 Su started looking for construction people using twitter, founded the Architects Twitter League and her blog about architects, Just Practising.
The League has found over 700 architects from all over the world, and Su also follows over 500 UK construction people. She supports a number of online communities including the AEC Network, DeCEx, tCn and Be2Camp.
Su addressed the RIBA Practice Stakeholders Group in October 2009 on the subject of Why Take Your Network Online? and crowdsourced the content of her presentation.
In December 2009 she launched a new site to help professionals network online, JustProfessionals.net a plain English guide to help newcomers find their feet.
