Richard Nelson

Richard joined WGI recently as head of business development and marketing, and he is responsible for setting out WGI’s global business development  strategy, including growth initiatives, service development, strategic alliances, client relationship management and new business development.

He also oversees marketing, communications and brand strategy for the practice, and he sits on the firm’s Management Board and several internal review boards.

Richard hails from the US, and is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Business Administration. He led operations, business development and marketing for international architectural practices in New York, and he helped launch an Internet start-up providing online collaboration and practice management solutions for owners, architects and contractors. He relocated to London in 2003.

Richard has been involved in securing new business valued at over £4.6 billion in construction in North America, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
